| What
is Transitional Mobility? Transitional
Mobility implements the philosophy of utilizing a single
mobility device combined with integrated seating,
which is capable of a seamless transition through a
continuum of definite, specific and necessary wheelchair
configurations. Each Transitional Mobility configuration
intelligently accommodates the changing dimensions and
ability of the occupant at any given time. Thus, adding
superior performance and positioning characteristics.
What does this mean
to the child and family?
This novel new wheelchair could
feasibly provide up to eight years of superior mobility!
As a disabled child matures, there
reaches a point in time that it becomes physically
difficult or impossible for the mother/caregiver to
transport him or her. This may occur sometime between
their first and second year. Since the family needs to
stay active in and out of the home, some sort of wheeled
mobility device becomes necessary.
The child gets older and they graduate
into their second device; typically a wheelchair in a
front or rear wheel drive configuration. This can occur
as a result of a change in the size of the child but more
importantly it is to satisfy the need for child to become
more independent by moving about on their own.
An active child means a happy and
developing child!
